The B-Side was the Humming Version performed by Paul McCartney and the Finchley Frogettes.From, October 1st, 2020: ‘We All Stand Together’ is performed by Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus (The Frog Chorus was an ensemble of the St Paul’s Choir together with the King’s Singers). The vinyl was an exact replica of the original cut out disc, and came with a poster. Fast forward more than a decade and it was made available as the B-Side to his 2004 single ‘Tropic Island Hum,’ and it was then included on the 2016 deluxe version of the greatest hits album ‘Pure McCartney.’ Its latest release came in the form of a limited edition 7″ cut out picture disc and remastered digital single in 2020, accompanying the 4K restoration of the film. Twenty years after its initial release, in September 2004 the short film was released for the first time on DVD to mark its 20th Anniversary, featuring on ‘Paul McCartney – Music & Animation Collection.’ A further sixteen years later in November 2020, to celebrate 100 years of Rupert the Bear, the magic was recaptured once again for existing fans and new audiences, when it was fully restored in 4k and released online.Īs for the song ‘We All Stand Together,’ after its release in 1984 it was later included on McCartney’s greatest hits album ‘All The Best’ in 1987 and subsequently appeared as a bonus track on the 1993 re-master of his 1983 ‘Pipes of Peace’ album. The video was released simultaneously and became the biggest selling video of 1985 as well as being nominated for ‘Best Music Video – Short Form’ at the Grammy Awards in 1986. It was recorded in 1980 and eventually released in November 1984, reaching number 3 in the UK charts. He dug out his old Rupert the Bear seasonal annuals and wrote the song. His inspiration for the song ‘We All Stand Together’ stemmed from the realisation that something he loved so much as a child was a firm favourite with his own children. ‘Rupert and the Frog Song’ was made in 1984 and comes from the imagination of music legend Paul McCartney.
